I have a passion for the fine things in life and sometimes you feel the need to be entertained. When people fail to do that for you or you are bored out of your mind, tv series are the way to go but only if you are watching the good ones. Seen a lot of stupid shows in my lifetime but I never find them anymore, I’ve gained a sense of what is good, bad and fucking amazing. The tv series that I will recommend to you right now are fucking amazing.
The Alienist (2018) – drama, mystery
Crime reporter John Moore meets with psychologist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler to investigate a serial killer in New York during the late 19th century.
“In the 19th Century, persons suffering from mental illness were thought to be alienated from their own true natures. Experts who studied them were therefore known as alienists.”
The story is as mysterious as it gets – in the late 1800 young boys were prostituting themselves, dressed like girls but more willing to do things girls wouldn’t, they would keep old, young and rich men entertained until the morning sun would rise. And if that doesn’t turn your stomach upside down, this will: In the midst of all, a man was killing the boys, cutting parts of their body, eating them, pulling out the heart and keeping their eyes as a trophy.
John Moore wants to investigate the murders with his friend to be Dr. Laszlo Kreizler who is an alienist. The Dr. was studying the killers mind and thought process to discover why they kill so easily. The serie is a success, has two nominations already, the actors are amazing and the tale is made known from the 1994 novel The alienist, written by Caleb Carr. Couldn’t get any better but it will. Loved the show so much, still hoping it will never end.
Downton Abbey (2010) – drama, romance
A chronicle of the lives of the British aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the early 20th Century.
Downton Abbey is as dramatic as a show can be… The chronicle of the life of a rich family accustomed to luxurious experiences in the fabulous era of change. The show starts with the family’s life from 1912 and takes you to an amazing Christmas party in the late 1920. I’ve absolutely loved it, the English accents, the actors were amazing, the costumes and the story itself is mesmerizing. It’s pretentious but simple… At the end of it I promise to you that you will take the tea at 5’o clock sharp.
Oh did I mentioned Maddi Smith is playing? HELL YES.
F is for family (2015-) – animation, comedy, drama
Follow the Murphy family back to the 1970s, when kids roamed wild, beer flowed freely and nothing came between a man and his TV.
On a more positive note, here’s a tv serie anyone would love: funny, a little bit dramatic and awesome for all the teens out there and for the adult teens that refuse to grow up, F is for family is a comedy show where the parents are rebellious, loving, caring, a little bitchy and fucking all day long whilst the teen child wants to become a rockstar, the middle one becomes as bad as it can get and the smallest little girl is an IT genius.
If you are sick as I am of The Simpsons and you’re sad that Futurama doesn’t want to continue it’s serie, this is the show to go with!
Blockers (2018) – comedy
Three parents try to stop their daughters from losing their virginity on prom night.
The last recommendation is a movie, it’s funny and good especially if you are a parent but mostly relaxing as a 20yo who just moved from his parents house. Hands up!
